The second annual Mississippi RPCV
fish fry and pool party was held at the home of Ellen and Jim Steeby July
29, 2000, near Inverness, MS. Included in the mix of 24 people attending
were three former volunteers living in Eastern Arkansas. The previous two
meetings of the year were held in Jackson, MS, and Starkville, MS (MSU).
By holding four meetings a year at various locations around state we hope
to give everyone a chance to attend at least one meeting without making a
long drive.
In addition to enjoying fried catfish and the pool we discussed
subjects including the shortage of officers, future potential projects
such as habitat for humanity involvement and location for the fall
meeting. The fall meeting may be held in Jackson or south Mississippi
depending on the possible visit of a Peace Corps representative from
Washington, D.C. |
