 | Mike Waite's Liberia TravelsImages from my August 2004 trip to Liberia. I traveled with the LEAP group to Kakata where the teacher training sessions were held. I made a separate trip to Tapita, where I had lived as a Peace Corps Volunteer in 1974 and 1975. The trip was difficult. I was stranded at night in a rainstorm with my transport hopelessly in the ditch. You can read about my trip at: The Road to Tapeta
The area in Nimba County has been devastated by war. There is little population living there and very few services. I have some pictures from Tapita and a small village where I spent the night. |
